WWE WrestleMania 37 marked the first show where live fans were permitted to attend since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans and analysts alike have subsequently wondered what the future holds for WWE’s in-person events.

WWE President Nick Khan, who also serves as the company’s chief revenue officer, discussed the fans’ return in an interview with Joe Otterson of Variety. Khan made it clear that when WWE brings fans back again, it will mark the resumption of a full-time touring schedule. While the company wanted to make WrestleMania 37 as special as possible, WWE officials aren’t interested in holding another “one-off” event with fans.

“Stay tune [for news about WWE’s plans for touring],” said Khan. “But just know that once we’re back on the road, we’re on the road full time. We’re not looking to do other one-offs. Again, this was WrestleMania. And we felt it needed to be done for the fans. So look for news coming soon.”

Khan also reflected on WWE’s reasoning behind the importance of having fans at WrestleMania. He stated that the company wanted to give its fans the genuine WWE experience, which, when possible, includes live crowds.

“If it could be done in a safe way, we had to get it done,” said Khan. “And I think ultimately, thanks to the great work of all the folks here, we were able to get it done. If you recall, WrestleMania last year was two to three weeks into the pandemic. We had to cancel last minute and we did it from a studio.

“It was certainly a different experience. So we wanted to make sure that the fans and the people watching at home got the WWE experience that they’re used to on the biggest event that we have.”

After WrestleMania, WWE went back to the ThunderDome, which now resides in the Yuengling Center.
