WWE superstar Kofi Kingston is scheduled to make an appearance at a local independent wrestling event next month, thanks to WWE’s recent openness to let its talent participate in external engagements. The event, titled ‘Return To The Forge,’ is hosted by Ego Pro Chicago and will take place on October 5 at The Forge venue in Joliet, IL.
Through his official Twitter handle, Kingston has already begun hyping up his appearance for the event.
In a tweet, Kingston wrote:
“👀 10/5/24! 🔥 who’s coming??? https://t.co/LmATZ9o85L
— Kofi Kingston (@TrueKofi) September 27, 2024”
However, Kingston’s appearance isn’t only for entertainment. What makes this event stand out is the purpose for which it’s being held. According to Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful, all the money gathered from the meet-and-greet with Kingston will be donated to philanthropy.
In the report, Sapp reveals, “Every penny raised from Kingston’s participation will be directed to Navarro Farms. It’s a marvelous initiative, established to assist adults and kids who deal with special needs.”
On the professional front, Kingston seems to be confronting growing issues with Xavier Woods, his colleague from their tag team ‘New Day’. During the most recent RAW event, the duo suffered a loss against American Made, setting the stage for an impending match between Woods and Rey Mysterio slated for the following week.
