Next month, WWE will continue its trend of pre-recording television shows instead of running live broadcasts.
Earlier reports from eWn had indicated that the NXT event scheduled in Lowell, MA on December 17, will be aired with a one-hour delay. This taping strategy will allow WWE to simultaneously air the show that night and capture content for the Christmas Eve episode.
For example, the episode of SmackDown being broadcasted tonight was pre-recorded on November 22, in Salt Lake City, to permit the crew and Superstars to enjoy a Thanksgiving break.
In addition to the aforementioned plans, WWE intends to pre-record the December 20th SmackDown episode on December 13 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT, and the RAW episode for December 23rd on December 16 in Boston, MA, at the TDBank Garden.
WrestleVotes Radio speculation suggests that the New Year’s Eve episode of WWE NXT will be recorded in advance as well.
Their report states, “We can tell you that the New Year’s Eve edition of NXT on the CW network will be taped on Thursday night, December 19, at the PC. Despite the advanced taping, the show will maintain its regular airing schedule on the CW on New Year’s Eve, potentially adopting a New Year’s Eve-themed presentation. To us, it’s commendable that WWE is allowing their younger talent to enjoy New Year’s Eve by taking the night off, creating room for celebrations, parties, or whatever they prefer doing on such a festive evening.”
