WWE Will Re-Air WrestleMania 36’s Boneyard Match On SmackDown

WWE has announced that this week’s SmackDown will be iconic, and I’m not talking about two women from Australia. In honor of the legacy of the legendary Undertaker, WWE will be reairing the Boneyard Match from WrestleMania 36. Taker recently stated that he was happy enough with the encounter to leave it as his “Last Ride” in the documentary series of the same name. For those that somehow missed this cinematic experience, you’ll get the chance to check it out on FOX this week.
The match pits Taker against AJ Styles, and also features the last televised appearance for OC members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The rerun is part of this week’s special “Tribute to The Undertaker.” It’s unclear if the tribute will appear in any other way on the show, but no other matches are announced for Friday as of yet.
With WWE dealing with a potential COVID-19 outbreak, it’s possible that they did not tape as much as they wanted to for this week’s show, which would also explain the rerun. Either way, it’s not all bad, as the Boneyard Match is probably one of the most fun matches WWE has put on in quite some time. I’m sure many people would love to watch it again as WWE plans for the weeks ahead.
