WWE Unveils Future WrestleMania PPV Plans Ahead of TKO Merger

WWE announced over the weekend that WrestleMania 41 will be held in Las Vegas despite Minneapolis being a strong contender for the event.

Pwinsider is reporting that WWE had shortlisted several cities as possible locations for WrestleMania before its merger with the UFC by Endeavor earlier this year.

Under the leadership of John Saboor, the former EVP of Special Events, WWE had Orlando, Las Vegas, and New Orleans as potential locations for future WrestleMania events. However, Saboor left the company last year and now works for Full Sail University in Florida.

The report suggests that Minneapolis was also a contender for hosting WrestleMania, with a “major bid,” which was likely to be accepted until Endeavor took over WWE.

Endeavor’s preference for Las Vegas, considering it a more lucrative market, particularly given its association with the UFC, ultimately influenced the decision.

Additionally, the decision on future WrestleMania locations will depend on how much revenue the organizers can generate from rights fees and government bidding.

While Orlando and New Orleans are not guaranteed to host the event in the future, TKO is open to considering any location that can provide the necessary funds.

Therefore, if a city like London expresses interest and provides the necessary funds, Nick Khan, the CEO of WWE, will likely consider it.
