In a contest of one-upmanship that WWE probably didn’t want to get into with AEW, the company now has its own stolen belt to worry about. PWInsider is reporting that current WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER was the victim of a “smash and grab” attack on his rental car. The thief stole both the title belt and the current champion’s passport. Fellow NXT UK star Timothy Thatcher also lost property in a similar attack.

This mirrors an incident earlier this year where newly crowned AEW World Champion Chris Jericho lost his championship belt in a rental limo while dining at a Longhorn Steakhouse. Said belt was recovered quickly, but that might not be the case in this more criminal occurrence.

WALTER is set to face EVOLVE Champion Josh Briggs in Chicago this evening, and he’ll likely be doing so without his championship. WWE has not confirmed the incident at the time of writing, but we’ll be sure to update with any further reporting on this matter as it happens.
