On Thursday, the annual PWI 500 list which ranks the top wrestlers in the world was released.

Taking to “Busted Open Radio” on Friday, Tommy Dreamer took issue with some of the ranking criteria and where Roman Reigns would rank based on PWI’s criteria. He said,

“Again, this criteria thing, and there’s two things in that really bother me. Jokingly, ‘Oh, just give an answer.’ I cannot because I know it’s not real. I need to know, cool then who won the most matches right then and there? That’s my criteria then. But if you put Roman Reigns — the entire industry for that for this year has been led by Roman Reigns, where every wrestler should walk up to Roman Reigns say, ‘Hey man, thank you. Thank you for leading the industry.’”

He continued, “Outside of all of the rest, I’m trying to go facts in a non-factual sport. Based on these facts, Roman Reigns is 300 and down. Based upon real numbers, Roman Reigns is top-five.”

WWE CFO Frank Riddick to Depart from the Company

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) recently announced that their Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Frank Riddick, will be leaving the company at the end of the month. The news was disclosed in a statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC filing revealed that Riddick’s departure is linked to the completion of certain transactions outlined in the Transaction Agreement between WWE and other entities such as Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc., Endeavor Operating Company, LLC, TKO Operating Company, LLC, TKO Group Holdings, Inc., and Whale Merger Sub Inc. These transactions were consummated on September 12, 2023.

According to the agreement, Riddick’s last day of employment with WWE will be September 29, 2023. As part of his separation from the company, he will be eligible to receive severance compensation and benefits as outlined in his amended and restated employment agreement. This includes a qualifying termination following a change in control of the company and the full vesting and payment of his sale bonus.

In other wrestling news, the annual Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) 500 list was recently released. This list ranks the top wrestlers in the world based on various criteria. However, former wrestler Tommy Dreamer expressed his disagreement with some of the ranking criteria and where Roman Reigns, a prominent WWE superstar, was placed on the list.

During an appearance on “Busted Open Radio,” Dreamer voiced his concerns about the criteria used by PWI and argued that Reigns should be ranked higher based on his contributions to the industry. He emphasized that Reigns has been leading the industry throughout the year and deserves recognition for his accomplishments.

Dreamer highlighted the importance of factual data in a non-factual sport and suggested that Reigns should be among the top five wrestlers based on real numbers. This reflects the impact Reigns has had on the wrestling industry and the respect he has garnered from his peers.
