It’s been revealed that “The Main Event” will air on Netflix on April 10th.
This is the first film to come from the WWE Studios-Netflix collaboration, which is part of a partnership where the two sides develop new, original feature films. The films will be directed towards family audiences.
The synopsis of the film reads like, “the story of a ten-year-old boy who is bullied but dreams of growing up to become a WWE professional wrestler. However, he gets to live his dream earlier when he discovers the secret to having super-strength in his breakfast cereal, becoming “The Spaghetti Kid.”
Keith Lee, Sheamus, The Miz, and Bray Wyatt have small roles in the film. The film was shot last summer in Vancouver, British Columbia.
It’s directed by Jay Karas (Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife, BreakPoint, Parks & Recreation) and produced by WWE Studios’ Richard Lowell along with WWE Studios’ Susan Levison and Maggie Malina.
