WWE SmackDown Viewership Up Over 2 Million For SummerSlam Go-Home Show

The latest overnight ratings numbers are in for WWE Friday Night SmackDown. This week, WWE SmackDown rose in viewership as SummerSlam was 24 hours away.

According to SpoilerTV, WWE SmackDown on August 20, 2021, drew 2.237 million viewers, which is up from the 2.084 million viewers drawn the week prior. As far as demographics go, the 18-49 demographics, the show scored a 0.55 rating which saw SmackDown as the highest-rated TV show for Friday night.

This week, WWE had 24 hours to deliver the final hype for this year’s SummerSlam, and they would up the stakes for Roman Reigns vs.John Cena by having Roman Reigns say that if John Cena defeats him, he will leave WWE. Also, Edge when back to his roots and delivered a “broodbath” to Seth Rollins.
