WWE SmackDown Viewership Up For 2020 Draft
After an uptick in viewership following Clash of Champions, WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown once again rose, likely due to the fact that the WWE Draft began during the show.
According to new information from Showbuzz Daily, SmackDown saw a 2.2% rise in viewership last night, up to 2.087 million viewers. This is a bit surprising due to the fact that the broadcast was going up against game five of the NBA Finals, but the draw of the WWE Draft was apparently a big one. While SmackDown didn’t average as many viewers as the game, it still saw an increase in views, opening with 2.156 million viewers in the first hour and 2.017 million viewers in the second.
In the 18-34 demographic, SmackDown also saw an increase, moving up 20% compared to last week’s episode, coming in with a 0.3 rating. This rating beat every other program on the night except the NBA Finals game, and SmackDown as a whole was up 9.1% in the 18-49 demographic, where they averaged a 0.6 rating. With Hell in a Cell also coming up, it wouldn’t be shocking to see SmackDown viewership continue to rise, but we’ll have to wait and see how things go next week.
