WWE SmackDown Viewership Increases After Clash Of Champions

Friday Night Smackdown Results

After losing viewership last week, WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw its viewership rise this week after the Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

According to new information from Showbuzz Daily, the television show averaged 2.043 million viewers this week, up a bit from last week’s show which dipped under two million. The second hour of the show – which traditionally has done better than the first – had the unfortunate spot of having to go up against the NBA Finals, resulting in a bit of a drop.

After opening with 2.105 million viewers in the first hour, Friday Night SmackDown dropped to 1.98 million for the second hour, likely coming as a direct result of the NBA Finals. Thankfully, SmackDown still continues to dominate the demographic range, as the 18-49 demographic was second only to ABC programming.

In the 18-34 demographic, though, SmackDown saw its lowest number (0.25) since the beginning of August, dropping it down below both ABC and CBS broadcasting. The show will look to bounce back this week as the company prepares to ramp up towards Hell in a Cell.
