Thurston notes that SmackDown”s successful outing, in terms of viewership, is especially noteworthy because the number didn’t drop too much with SummerSlam in the rearview mirror. The show also faced stiff competition from college football on Friday night.
This week’s episode featured a buzzworthy main event, as Roman Reigns defended the WWE Universal Championship against Finn Balor.
