WWE SmackDown Viewership Drops, Key Demo Rating Leads Television On 9/24

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results

The final viewership numbers for the September 24 episode of WWE SmackDown show that viewership indeed dropped this week.

According to the overnight numbers reported by TV Series Finale, WWE SmackDown drew 2.09 million viewers on September 24. In an update, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports that SmackDown averaged 2.135 million viewers. This number is down from last week’s number of 2.243 million viewers.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, Thurston notes that the show drew a 0.55 rating, which made it the top-watched show in the demographic on Friday. Still, this rating is slightly down from the 0.58 number the show scored last week.

WWE Smackdown on Friday on Fox averaged 2,135,000 viewers and did a 0.55 rating among viewers aged 18 to 49.

AEW Rampage at 10 pm on TNT averaged 640,000 across its special two-hour time slot.

Friday’s show was the go-home program for WWE Extreme Rules, and it featured an Intercontinental Championship Match between King Nakamura and Apollo Crews. Plus, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns faced Montez Ford, one of the brand’s most promising stars.
