WWE SmackDown Viewership Down Slightly Despite Drew McIntyre Match

Friday Night Smackdown Results

This weeks episode of Friday Night SmackDown wasn’t competing with any major national stories, but still saw a brief dip in their viewership despite all of that.

According to new information from Showbuzz Daily, SmackDown’s overnight ratings saw a 3% drop from last Friday’s overnight number, but when it comes to major demographics, the show did very well. In the 18-34 demographic, SmackDown managed to stay at 0.4, the same rating that it had last week, and the best rating that the show has had since April. In the 18-49 demographic, SmackDown saw a brief drop, as the company hit a 0.6 rating, down 7.7% from last week, but still good enough to beat out everything on other networks outside of ABC’s Shark Tank.

When it comes to hourly viewership, the second hour of SmackDown continued to be the higher-rated of the two. The first hour of SmackDown averaged 2.111 million viewers, while the second hour saw a jump to 2.172 million viewers. With WWE’s Survivor Series just around the corner, it’ll be interesting to see how the show continues to average coming out of the pay-per-view, especially with some big matches planned.
