WWE SmackDown Viewership Down On Black Friday
The latest overnight numbers are in for the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and the ratings saw a drop back down for the show, with the Thanksgiving weekend edition of SmackDown tying its lowest overall night since October.
According to new information from Showbuzz Daily, SmackDown’s most recent episode saw a 10.3% drop from last week, although that number is slightly affected due to the fact that the episode aired right after Thanksgiving. In a surprising turn of events, last night’s episode averaged more viewers in the first hour than in the second, with 2.016 million viewers tuning in for the first hour, and only 1.957 million people showing up for the second.
As far as demographics, SmackDown also saw a bit of a drop thanks to the holiday. In the 18-49 age range, SmackDown averaged a 0.55 rating, which is down 8.3% from last week’s numbers. Despite the lower numbers, SmackDown still beat everything else on the networks, except for How the Grinch Stole Christmas and a Minions holiday special on NBC. In the 18-34 age range, SmackDown averaged a 0.3 rating, the same as it was last week, although that number is down 33.3% year-to-year. As it did in the other demographic, SmackDown also trailed the two holiday movies for third amongst all networks.
