World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has recently placed in applications for new trademarks associated with its Friday Night SmackDown programming.
The copyright requests for “SmackDown,” “S,” and “Smkdwn” were officially registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). WWE made the submission on September 18, opting to apply under the categories of goods, services, and entertainment.
Moreover, the prominent sports entertainment company decided to file for new logos that align with “SmackDown,” “S,” and “Smkdwn.” These symbols represent notable visual changes for the trademarked terms.
On the media platform eWn, reports previously shared that WWE’s SmackDown programming will undergo expansion beginning January 2025. Despite the increase to three hours, it is worth noting that the show will reformat back to its typical two-hour slot sometime in June.
