Moving on to my two cents…
While I was excited for the event, I must confess, it was a tad disappointing on the whole. It lacked the element of surprise —not that I was expecting earth-shattering shocks— but its line-up of four heel victories in a row, and the only highlight being a new champion, seemed a bit underwhelming.
In my view, it was streamlined enough to feel like a pay-per-view, yet it gave off vibes of a condensed version of a SmackDown episode, garnished with a nostalgic feel.
Fortunately, this nostalgia somewhat saved the day for me. If only Jesse Ventura had been more involved and entertaining, it could have been the highlight. Nevertheless, I appreciated the retro approach, and above all, the display of the Winged Eagle WWE Championship. Being a follower from that era, it was a delight to see Cody Rhodes holding my all-time favorite belt, even if just for that one night.
But my top highlight of the night has to be Chelsea Green clinching the Women’s United States Championship. She’s a delightful character, not the typical contender for the women’s world title, but this victory has positioned her intriguingly. I’m still anticipating a win for Michin, as I believe she’s been undervalued throughout her career, but Green’s win was a commendable decision.
