WWE is making some cuts in NXT.

On Wednesday, the company reportedly released former head referee Drake Wuertz. In an update, WWE parted ways with another official.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that referee Jake Clemons was released on Wednesday. Clemons signed with WWE this past October, and he officiated a match on WWE RAW in February 2020. In this bout, he was part of a storyline in which he “screwed” Kevin Owens during his match with Randy Orton. On the show, Clemons ripped his uniform to reveal a Seth Rollins shirt. Owens then dropped him with a Stunner and sent him crashing through a table with a powerbomb.

Who was the referee in the Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens match on @WWE RAW? The main event referee was Jake Clemons @ClemonsJake who made the fast count for Randy. For his actions, Clemons received a stunner & then a powerbomb through a table by Kevin. #WWE #RAW #WWERAW pic.twitter.com/DyHXsb62dW
