WWE has shut down all ongoing NXT training and tapings as a result of a Covid-19 outbreak at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. PWInsider has confirmed with multiple sources that training was halted today and that NXT talents and staff are being told to sequester themselves as a precautionary measure.
Sources within the performance center believe that the cause of the o outbreak was a party thrown by an NXT talent that fellow trainees attended. This led to the spread which has caused multiple confirmed cases amongst both wrestlers and staff. Last night’s episode of NXT and the one taped for this coming Wednesday were both effected, with talent being taken of the show and sent home due to positive tests.
WWE has also barred any NXT talents or staff from working the ongoing Raw and SmackDown tapings until further notice. There is some worry that the talents who worked under masks as Retribution on recent shows could have spread the disease to the main roster, but none of those worries have borne fruit as of yet. WWE has Clash of Champions this weekend, with NXT hosting a TakeOver show on October 4.
