On a recent edition of Dylan Postl’s “Going Postl” podcast, former WWE Superstar Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) revealed incidents of WWE higher-ups roasting wrestlers by playing unaired footage of them messing up and using it as an excuse to give them less TV time on WWE programming.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On how officials would use such footage to roast him: “A lot of times, stuff like that is done…to bust balls, and then you’re like ‘Hey, we know. It’s kind of cool that, 99 times out of 100, you’re better than everyone else on the entire planet. You messed up this thing, so let’s make a joke about it and roast you.’”

On WWE office people using it as an excuse to remove him from TV: “But it’s not your friends roasting you, it’s a*****e office guys who don’t like you and are looking for an excuse to take you off TV. So it’s no longer a fun roast between friends, it’s ‘See, you did this one bad thing. That’s why you can’t be champion.’ Sadly it’s more that way than the fun roasting.”

Nemeth was released by WWE in September 2023 following which he signed with TNA.

In a recent episode of Dylan Postl’s “Going Postl” podcast, former WWE Superstar Nic Nemeth, better known as Dolph Ziggler, shared some shocking revelations about how WWE higher-ups would use unaired footage of wrestlers’ mistakes as a means to give them less TV time on WWE programming. This practice, according to Nemeth, was not just a friendly roast among colleagues but a way for certain individuals in the WWE office to remove wrestlers from television.

Nemeth explained that while it is common for people to tease and make jokes about each other’s mistakes in a lighthearted manner, the situation becomes different when it is done by people who hold power and may have personal issues with the wrestlers. He stated, “But it’s not your friends roasting you, it’s a*****e office guys who don’t like you and are looking for an excuse to take you off TV. So it’s no longer a fun roast between friends, it’s ‘See, you did this one bad thing. That’s why you can’t be champion.’ Sadly it’s more that way than the fun roasting.”

This revelation sheds light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics within WWE and raises questions about the fairness and professionalism of the decision-making process. Wrestlers work tirelessly to entertain fans and put their bodies on the line, and it seems unjust to penalize them based on isolated mistakes that may not accurately reflect their overall abilities and contributions to the industry.

Nemeth’s comments also highlight the power dynamics within WWE and how personal biases and grudges can influence the career trajectory of wrestlers. It is disheartening to think that someone’s hard work and dedication can be undermined by a few seconds of unaired footage being used against them.

Nemeth’s departure from WWE in September 2023 and subsequent signing with TNA suggests that he may have experienced enough frustration with the company’s practices to seek opportunities elsewhere. This incident serves as a reminder that the wrestling industry, like any other, has its flaws and challenges.

As fans, it is important to consider the human aspect of professional wrestling and support wrestlers not just for their in-ring performances but also for the obstacles they face behind the scenes. Hopefully, Nemeth’s revelations will spark a conversation within the industry about fair treatment and decision-making processes, leading to positive changes that benefit all wrestlers.
