Deep South Wrestling has recently formed an alliance with WWE which will see NXT’s Lexis King performing for DSW. It was announced this week that King is slated to compete at Deep South Wrestling on the 26th of October. His opponent will be none other than the popular DSW wrestler, Skrilla the Great.
During a recent media session, King dismissed the idea that his family influence landed him in WWE. He pledged to be victorious in his upcoming match in Atlanta.
After the announcement, Skrilla made a statement on social media, targeting his future opponent with the following words:
“Another “professional” that didn’t do their research because they are so full of themselves. No surprise. See you soon @lexisking_wwe 👑”
It’s worth noting that Deep South Wrestling was once a developmental region for WWE alongside Ohio Valley Wrestling. It was only later that WWE transitioned to using NXT as its training platform.
The recent alliance with DSW marks the latest in WWE’s collaborations, coming into the fold along with TNA Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, Marigold, and several others.
