Another exhilarating Question of the Day from eWrestlingNews has arrived!
Yesterday was a rollercoaster, as an hour of WWE’s NXT clashed head-to-head with AEW Dynamite’s special Title Tuesday. Packed with breathtaking performances in the ring, surprise returns, and significant developments, both shows really brought it.
Here’s a thought for you – “In your opinion, which show struck gold last night – WWE NXT or AEW Dynamite’s Title Tuesday?” Remember to share your insights in the comment section.
Now for my two cents…
Juggling both shows at once was a daunting task, especially as I was trying to source live feeds abroad and provide updates all at once. No, it wasn’t easy, but the top-tier content from both shows made it worth it.
While I have a bias for WWE due to my personal preference for its storyline crafting, I believe the comparison this week between these two episodes was a close call. Flipping between highs and not-so-high lows, both shows offered some exciting bits.
For instance, the return of Penelope Ford during a chaotic four-way was not spectacular for me. Though good to see her back, there was so much happening at that time for her return to be impactful. Something similar happened with Nikkita Lyons’ backstage cameo with Ava and Lola Vice. Maybe because neither Ford nor Lyons have achieved much in their respective niches, or maybe because their frequent injuries make it hard to get invested, yet I hope they make excellent strides in the future.
The news of Daniel Garcia sticking with AEW? Great for fans, and a bit of a letdown for me as I’d hoped to see him in NXT. But Stephanie Vaquer’s debut? Big plus for NXT.
Oba Femi’s first defeat truly stood out for me. Title changes are often pivotal, especially when it involves a previously near-invincible character like Femi. This was my highlight in terms of in-ring action, despite the match may not being technically superior to other bouts.
While I personally found these shows tied, I believe most people will pick AEW as better. Still, for me, the most intriguing bit from either show was Tony D’Angelo’s title change.
