WWE Nixed Major Push For Tag Team Due To Injury

During this year’s WWE Draft, the company’s developmental brand lost its women’s champions. 

Indi Hartwell was called up along before she relinquished the NXT Women’s Title due to injury, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. 

It appears a tag team that could’ve challenged for the Tag Team Titles was put on ice because of an injury.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE was considering making plans for Sol Ruca, who recently underwent surgery for a torn ACL, to team with Dani Palmer. 

“Sol Ruca underwent surgery this past week for her torn ACL. Before her injury, there was talk of making Ruca & Dani Palmer into a major pushed babyface tag team in NXT. They were so high on them there was talk of them getting the NXT tag belts within a few months but that obviously isn’t happening,” Meltzer wrote.
