Throughout 2024, WWE has witnessed substantial expansion and income generation, marking it as a key year in the company’s history. Although the company has added numerous new talents to its team, it has also grappled with the issue of retaining existing ones.

Becky Lynch, one of the top Superstars of WWE for several years, has taken an indefinite break from the company, with no plans to participate in another wrestling organization. In contrast, Seth Rollins, her spouse, is still active in the WWE. However, Ricochet has moved from WWE to join AEW.

Successful contract renewals have been made by WWE, including well-known names like Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Asuka, Natalya, Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza, and most recently, Sheamus. On the other hand, the contract of Kevin Owens is due to expire in the near future, and fresh negotiations will have to be initiated.

Sheamus, who has been associated with WWE since 2009, re-inked a contract this week, which will extend his tenure until the fall of 2029.

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has entered into discussions for about fifteen new contracts with Superstars whose current agreements will soon lapse.

Although the future of Owens remains uncertain due to potential interest from AEW, WWE is putting all of its efforts into securing new contracts with its top tier talent like Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax.
