WWE might be looking to add even more television content to its production schedule. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE has had internal discussions about a secondary NXT show. “Fightful has learned that a once-pitched NXT product was at least in the planning stages in September, before the most recent outbreak,” wrote Ross Sapp. In his report, he states that the concept was pitched as “NXT Underground,” though it would have looked quite different than the RAW Underground that has been featured on WWE RAW recently. Though that pitch has been reportedly “tabled,” Ross Sapp writes that the interest was strong enough for a pilot episode. “There was a pilot for the event shot at the WWE Performance Center in Summer 2019, which would have been the setting of the event. We’re told it has long been a Ryan Katz project,” wrote Ross Sapp.
This report elaborates by stating that underutilized NXT wrestlers and additions from the EVOLVE roster would have been part of the show.
