WWE CEO Nick Khan previously talked about how the company believes NXT can be a third brand alongside Raw and SmackDown, something they tried to do in the past before the NXT 2.0 rebrand.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there has been a “renewed focus” on making NXT a “sustainable third brand” from the Endeavor Group and Khan.
“The goal is to go back to what it was, running regular tours outside of Florida in 2,000 seat arenas and taping television on the road like Raw and Smackdown. Keep in mind there is no time line for this, and they are still talking of NXT Europe and a full-time performance center in London as the backbone but nothing is happening there until 2024,” Meltzer wrote.
WWE is attempting to close the gap with AEW Dynamite in the 18-34 age group for NXT ahead of them returning to live touring.
