WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson Passes Away

WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson has passed away at the age of 79. Tony Marinaro shared the news on his Twitter page. He said that Patterson passed away in a hospital early on Wednesday morning. Patterson had been battling cancer.

Just got a text from my buddy Rodger Brulotte letting me know that legendary wrestler Pat Patterson of @WWE passed away earlier this morning in a Miami hospital. Patterson, had cancer. He was 79. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP. #WWE

Patterson was the first WWE Intercontinental Champion. He also created the legendary WWE Royal Rumble match. He was a long-time WWE producer, and he was often viewed as one of Vince McMahon’s right-hand man. Many WWE fans may remember Patterson as a member of The Corporation. Even after he retired, he continued to work with WWE as a consultant. As a wrestler, Patterson was successful all around the world.
