WWE Had Plans For A New Bray Wyatt Faction After WrestleMania 39
– ADVERTISMENT –

Bray Wyatt disappeared from WWE TV shortly before WWE WrestleMania 39 in April with an illness. Before his disappearance, he was paired with Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy and Alexa Bliss on television.

There had been rumors going around in 2019 that WWE had plans for Eric Young and Mike Bennett to serve in a Bray Wyatt stable. Fightful Select noted today that the pitch didn’t go far.

Fightful Select reported that before Young and Bennett were let go in 2020, there were pitches from Paul Heyman to have them involved in a faction with Wyatt, but the pitches were only made to Bennett.

“It ended up getting pitched more than once, including an idea for Mike Bennett to perform as Sister Abigail. Though there was word in the report that the plans were canceled, but we’re told the pitches didn’t actually get that far. However there were more recent ones that did,” the report read.

When Young re-signed with WWE only to have his release granted this spring, Young was to be involved in a new-style version of the Wyatt Family with both Wyatt and Dallas.

The report added, “We’re told the creative plans were set in January, and would have kicked off after WrestleMania. However, Bray Wyatt was sidelined with an undisclosed illness, and neither he and Bo Dallas have yet to return to television. By the time the angle would have started, Young asked for his release.”

There were also pitches for Bliss to join the group before she became pregnant.
