WWE has once more locked down the trademark for the widely used phrase “YES! YES! YES!”, after it momentarily expired.

The application for the trademark was made by Bryan Danielson at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on the 29th July.

A legal communique from WWE was subsequently dispatched to Danielson, the reigning AEW World Heavyweight Champion, soon after his trademark submission.

Danielson introduced the chant to WWE audiences in 2013, being a crowd pleaser. Interestingly, this was through the use of its opposite, the “NO! NO! NO!” chant, during his grand entrance.

As part of its tractor beam grip on this popular slogan, WWE submitted paperwork for the trademark on 1st October. This was done in relation to entertainment services and apparel.

Here’s the official explanation of the trademark:

“Entertainment provisions, particularly wrestling shows and acts by a pro wrestler and performer delivered via broadcasting mediums such as television, radio, internet or a commercial online service. Offering wrestling updates and details on a worldwide computer network; providing sports and entertainment-related information through an online community gateway. Managing a website dedicated to sports entertainment data. Fan club services – organizing sporting events in wrestling for fan club members, setting up entertaining social events for fan club members. Delivering online newsletters in sports entertainment, and online diaries – blogs – in the domain of sports entertainment.”
