WWE Extreme Rules Now Tagged As ‘The Horror Show’
WWE has added a new flavor to July’s Extreme Rules PPV, and it’s decidedly spooky. The Wrestling Observer first observed that WWE.com is now referring to Extreme Rules as “Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.” It’s unknown why they’ve made the change, although it’s all over every current preview for the event.
Extreme Rules is headlined by Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship and Sasha Banks vs. Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. On SmackDown, Bray Wyatt has returned to his cultist roots and seems headed for a title clash with Braun Strowman. Bray in this form previously featured in a “House of Horrors” match with Randy Orton, so it’s possible that the new name could correlate to their storyline.
Either way, with the recent outbreak of COVID-19 amongst the WWE roster, all these plans are Extremely subject to change. WrestleZone will keep reporting on both the in-ring Horror Show and the one happening in real life.
