WWE is finally returning home to “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
Madison Square Garden has been confirmed as host of the September 10 taping of WWE SmackDown. WWE announced the taping on Thursday morning, advertising the following names as appearing:
Universal Champion Roman Reigns, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rey and Dominik Mysterio, WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews, Edge, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Seth Rollins, Big E, Kevin Owens and more.
Tickets go on sale next Friday, July 9 at 10 am ET via Ticketmaster.
The new SmackDown taping will mark the first WWE event at Madison Square Garden since their live event on December 26, 2019, and it’s also the first WWE television and SmackDown taping since September 10, 2019. WWE had originally planned on hosting a set of events at the arena in 2020, but the pandemic put those plans on hold.
