WWE Confirms Replacement For Scheduled WrestleMania Title Match

wrestlemania 36

As reported widely online during the actual tapings of the show, The Miz will not be performing at this weekend’s WrestleMania 36. WWE’s McKenzie Mitchell explained on The Bump that Miz was injured during the brawl on yesterday’s SmackDown taping, which precludes him from taking part. This means that the planned SmackDown Tag Team Title match will now be a three-way ladder match, with a member of each team competing for the straps.

Oh no!!! Quick recovery to @mikethemiz! @mckenzienmitch just broke the news on @WWETheBump that Miz was injured last night on Smackdown so won’t be participating in #Wrestlemania but a triple threat match will still take place for the SD Tag Titles.

Those watching WrestleMania tonight can look forward to seeing John Morrison vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Kofi Kingston in a ladder match, which is certainly a fine replacement. Will The Miz return to action without the titles he can’t defend tonight? We’ll see this weekend.
