At WWE Backlash 2024, Cody Rhodes triumphed in the undisputed WWE Championship, successfully defeating AJ Styles. Regardless, Styles, fondly known as The Phenomenal One, continues to challenge Rhodes.

Previously, Styles cleverly feigned retirement to provoke Rhodes and put himself back into the title chase. SmackDown’s general manager, Nick Aldis, wasn’t swayed by Styles and declined to give him instant access to another chance.

In the most recent episode of SmackDown aired on Friday evening, Rhodes expressed his anger and frustration vividly. He sought revenge and demanded a direct confrontation with Styles. After a brief altercation, Rhodes concurred to provide Styles another chance to compete for the WWE championship.

However, the next match comes with a twist – it’s an ‘I Quit’ match. As the American Nightmare, Rhodes hopes to defeat Styles again but this time with more humiliation by making him utter the words that should have been said last week – “I quit.”
