WWE is making the move to the Amway Center in Orlando.
As seen in the video and photos below (via My News 13 and Jon Alba), WWE production trucks have started to arrive at the Amway Center in Orlando to prepare for television tapings.
According to reports from multiple sources on Thursday, this year’s WWE SummerSlam event is being planned as taking place at the Amway Center. @WrestleVotes initially hinted that the announcement was coming, with Alba following up by saying WWE might be planning for more events at the arena than just SummerSlam and load-in could start as soon as today.
F4WOnline‘s Dave Meltzer also reported tickets would not be sold for the event at this point in time, and unless something changes, the audience members would consist of WWE contracted talent. PWInsider.com reported WWE is considering the use of virtual fans in the crowd for broadcasts.
Previous reports had indicated that WWE was attempting to host SummerSlam outside of the Performance Center, with Atlantic City named as one possible location. SummerSlam was initially scheduled to take place in Boston but plans were canceled due to the ongoing quarantine measures in place due to COVID-19.
WWE SummerSlam is scheduled for Sunday, August 23; this year’s event would mark the first time that the event was hosted in Florida in its 33 year history.
