It appears as though WWE will be unifying the Women’s Tag Team Championships in the near future.
On Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler issued a challenge to Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre for a unification match.
In a promo segment involving Dawn and Fyre, Rousey and Baszler came out to the ring to interrupt. Baszler revealed that she was reason why the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships were created in the first place. She went on to say that WWE wasn’t big enough for two sets of Women’s Tag Team titles.
This led to Isla and Alba agreeing to a title vs. title match. They then attacked Rousey and Baszler, which led to the latter retreating.
As of this writing, there is no word on when this match will be taking place.
