In the past, WWE has held the “New Year’s Resolution” pay-per-view in the first week of January, but it never fell on New Year’s Day. The last event in this line, as of this writing, was WWE New Year’s Resolution 2007.
No further details are known at this time. WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
Update: WWE posted a press release about the event, and it is as follows:
STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE® (NYSE: WWE) will kick off the new year at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, January 1, 2022, marking the first time in history that a WWE pay-per-view event will be held on New Year’s Day.
