The anticipated showdown slated to happen between AEW and WWE is set to occur on the final weekend of May.
A few weeks ago, AEW confirmed that the 2025 installment of their Double Or Nothing pay-per-view show will take place at Glendale, Arizona’s Desert Diamond Arena on Sunday, May 25.
This marks the first time the AEW Double Or Nothing event would take place outside of Las Vegas, with the exclusion of the 2020 and 2021 pandemic playlists that happened in Jacksonville, FL.
In earlier reports on eWn, we told you that WWE’s next Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC is also scheduled for May 24 with the 2025 NXT Battleground pay-per-view event slated for May 25, the very next day.
Consequently, AEW’s Double Or Nothing 2025 will face off directly with WWE’s NXT Battleground 2025.
Typically, AEW arranges their pay-per-view events on Sundays in times that do not clash with the NFL season, but prefers Saturday nights when the NFL season is ongoing.
Interestingly, AEW has opted to keep its pay-per-view schedule under wraps this year, in a bid to prevent WWE from fixing a rival show on the same night. This move is reminiscent of an incident that occurred with a house show in Orlando, FL in the previous December, which coincided with AEW’s Worlds End 2024.
