WWE is no longer pursuing the trademark of “The Collective.”

On Friday, June 4, WWE abandoned the trademark they were attempting to register on “The Collective.” They initially tried to trademark the term in December and it immediately drew the ire of many as The Collective is a term used by Game Changer Wrestling for their Collective of events during the Wrestlemania weekend.

Game Changer Wrestling would form an LLC to trademark the term themselves. To this day, it is the only trademark they have thus far.

GCW’s trademark is intended for the following usages:

Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Organizing conventions for professional wrestling and sports entertainment; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network

It was never known what WWE intended to utilize the term for but now, they will never own the trademark.
