Would You Be Okay With John Cena vs Logan Paul At Mania | Question Of The Day

It’s time for another eWrestlingNews Discussion Point of the Day!

There was a recent report that the suggested match between John Cena and Logan Paul at WrestleMania 41 has not only been floated, but it was greeted with a “resounding disapproval” and there are views that it should not be Cena’s concluding WrestleMania showdown.

The discussion today is, “Would you agree to this match taking place? If not, are you fine with it being at a different event other than WrestleMania? And in that scenario, who should be Cena’s opponent?”

Don’t forget to share your views in the comments section below.

Regarding my viewpoint…

This wouldn’t be my first choice for Cena’s WrestleMania schedule? No. But are there worse options? Indubitably.

In my perspective, this isn’t a straightforward approval or disapproval. Several variables come into play. The aim is to make each WrestleMania card appealing to all sides, rather than having only 2-5 matches capturing people’s interest and the rest being stale.

Will The Rock be wrestling? If yes, who is he going up against, Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns? As we haven’t seen the Cody/Rock faceoff yet, their plan, I presume, is for that matchup, with Roman confronting CM Punk, and regrettably Seth Rollins being excluded from a critical match.

Considering this, will Randy Orton battle Kevin Owens? If this is true, I’m already considering this WrestleMania as a Plan B type of event rather than the ideal showcase. Even as a fan of Owens and Orton, their rivalry doesn’t appeal to me as much as Rhodes/Orton.

This leads us to consider who Cena will have his actual last fight against? If that’s Randy Orton, then indeed, despite Orton not battling Rhodes or Owens, I’m not in favor of Cena/Orton at WrestleMania. This would deprive someone else of a slot and would lead to two Orton matches for Cena in 2025. At this juncture, I’d prefer to see Cena vs. Logan Paul.

But what will be Gunther’s role amidst all this? I’m assuming we’re not going to see Gunther battling Brock Lesnar. Therefore, I’m looking at the roster and somehow the only feasible options for him (without it being a setback) would be a World Heavyweight Championship contest against John Cena, Seth Rollins, or Goldberg.

If Cena’s 17th world title win against Gunther is being considered, I’d absolutely love to see that at WrestleMania. Or, even if Cena loses to Gunther, that’s nonetheless a great selling point and in my opinion is better than a match with Logan Paul.

I still hold that eventually Cena and Paul should face off in 2025. But, if a better option for both competitors exists at WrestleMania – and let’s not even start discussing who else Paul could challenge at Mania – then I might be the one in WWE Creative suggesting Cena/Paul. If someone were to oppose, I would demand an alternative to my proposal.

If there’s a better lineup that sufficiently accommodates Cody Rhodes, The Rock, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Gunther, John Cena, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, The Usos, The Bloodline, among others….AND there’s a better option for Logan Paul than Cena…then, indeed, let’s hold on Cena/Paul till SummerSlam. Otherwise, I definitely don’t want to witness a whole card of mediocre matches when this is supposed to be The Grandest Stage of Them All.
