Willow Nightingale has battled Athena a few times this year, and the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion considers herself proud of what they’ve done together.

Nightingale reflected on the matches during a media scrum at Starrcast VI, noting that the bouts exceeded her hopes even if she didn’t win Athena’s ROH Women’s Championship. She said.

“I think every time you are put into a big match like that, you hope that it will be something special. The two times before that when Athena and I wrestled had been matches I was proud of. Whether I came out the victor or not, I was definitely proud of the matches I had with her.”

“Going in, you imagine that it’s going to be something special. Having it be in Trenton, New Jersey, I’m from Long Island, so that’s the tri-state. That’s where I was grinding and cutting my teeth on the indies, so having the crowd behind me like that, having my parents there, just the energy in the building, all of it together, [coupled with] being the first main event for a Ring Of Honor pay-per-view by two women, it was more special than I could’ve imagined. That is really saying something, considering I didn’t walk away with the championship at the end of that night. I was hurting, I was tired, I desperately needed to take a nap after, but I still had a smile on my face because even though I lost, I knew I laid it out and did my best.”

Tommy Dreamer will put his career on the line against Kenny King at Impact Victory Road this Friday, and he addressed his potential retirement in a Facebook post. The ECW legend wrote,

“This Friday in the building I saw my 1st ever live pro wrestling show White Plains NY Westchester County Center for my 10th bday

I put my career on the line vs Kenny King

If I lose im done

I will fulfill all my commitments till the end of the year. It will be a quick retirement tour.

I dont want to screw over the promoters or fans that got tickets already to the events all over the US

I havent taken any 2024 bookings.

If I win, well the Dream continues & all the matches I have will be for the Impact wrestling Digital Media Championship

Ive had a blessed career

Im very grateful & thankful to everyone who has been around for this EXTREME journey”
