Willow Nightingale, newly minted CMLL Women’s World Champion, stated her readiness to defend her new title on the international stage after winning the championship this month.

The superstar, known for her performances in AEW, secured the gold at the USA FantasticaMania event. The championship was left vacant after Stephanie Vaquer departed from CMLL to sign a contract with WWE.

During the July 17th episode of CMLL Informa, Nightingale discussed her victory in a prerecorded message. She expressed,

“This morning, I found myself in San Jose, California. A few days earlier, I was grappling with feelings of defeat. I truly believed that the Owen Hart Cup would be mine again – a consecutive victory. I truly needed it especially after the betrayal from my best friend, but alas, it turned out to be another disappointment.

“Nonetheless, this morning, I found myself here, invited to participate in an electrifying matchup for CMLL and New Japan – two companies that I am passionate about entertaining for. More than that, I was given the opportunity to vie for the CMLL Women’s Championship, and I emerged victorious. It’s moments like these that renew your strength, remind you of the things that really matter to you, and reignite the joy within you.

“Thus, on this glorious day, my newly-won title has been my source of happiness. So I’ll head over to the TV stations, to AEW, deal with any challenges as they come, week after week when I’m there.

“However, I won’t shy away from the effort or from the responsibilities that come with being an international champion. I have every intention of taking the stage in Mexico, arriving in Mexico City, and not merely showcasing my skills for all you wonderful spectators, but to reign victorious as a true champion would.”

In addition to her latest win, Nightingale is a previous AEW TBS Champion, though she lost the titles to Mercedes Mone. She also won the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament.

As for Stephanie Vaquer, she’s participated in two WWE events held in Mexico after her departure, where she overcame Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn in both matches.
