William Regal’s Landscape Changing NXT Announcement Revealed *Spoiler*

Near the end of this week’s episode of NXT, General Manager William Regal promised that he had an announcement that would “change the landscape of NXT” planned for next week. That appears to be the case as an additional championship will reportedly be added to the yellow brand.
According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), the storyline is leading to the introduction of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. This comes after Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez were unfairly screwed during a match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship by Adam Pearce.
Previously, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship was defended on all three brands, although only RAW and SmackDown superstars have held the belts and NXT title defenses were far and few between. It was the only belt defended on all brands, so adding a tag title will further separate NXT from the two main roster brands.
