According to AEW wrestler Will Ospreay, rivals CM Punk and Seth Rollins attempted to steal the limelight following the AEW Revolution cage match in March 2025. It occurred just one day following Ospreay’s intense face-off against Kyle Fletcher.
The headline-grabbing steel cage match between Punk and Rollins took place on the March 10th installment of WWE RAW, coming hot on the heels of Ospreay’s AEW event.
During an appearance on the “Battleground” podcast, Ospreay voiced suspicion that the scheduling of Punk and Rollins match immediately after his might not have been a coincidence. He shared,
“I was actually pondering this a short while ago. I’m unable to recall another cage match instantly that achieved the level of stunts, narrative, dramatic tension like that one did. People aspired to one-up it the immediate following day, but they fell short. I was amazed by the response we received and by the number of individuals who sincerely believed it was one of history’s best steel cage matches.”
Adding a twist to the match between Punk and Rollins, Roman Reigns made a surprise appearance, marking his first return since the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
