NJPW star Will Ospreay is currently suffering from an AC joint injury in his right shoulder that is “hurting” him, reports Dave Meltzer.

At NJPW Strong Resurgence in Long Beach, California, Ospreay defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi in the semifinals of a tournament to determine a new #1 contender for the IWGP United States Title currently held by Kenny Omega. Ospreay is scheduled to face Lance Archer in the finals of the tournament.

Ospreay was legitimately suffering from the effects of his painful shoulder injury during his match with Tanahashi, and he wasn’t attempting to sell a worked injury.

It’s unclear if Ospreay will take time off or continue working through the shoulder injury.
