Will Ospreay fired shots at WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, and it was later reported that Ospreay himself had come up with the idea for his promo.
Ospreay reacted to recent comments from Triple H about “the grind” by commenting on his current schedule and how hard he performs.
Ospreay claimed that Triple H “is only in the position he’s in because he was grinding on the boss’ daughter.”
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ospreay came up with the idea to respond because he felt he had to for personal reasons.
Ospreay reportedly informed AEW President Tony Khan that he would take full responsibility for the dialogue when he pitched it.
Ospreay reasoned that he felt one of the most important people in wrestling, whom he had been incredibly respectful to during their recent negotiations, mocked his work ethic and dedication to wrestling.
The AEW wrestler noted that he never took shots at WWE or its performers previously and felt Triple H’s comments were a “cheap shot.”
When Ospreay negotiated with WWE, the billion-dollar promotion was “fully aware” of his family situation with his partner (women’s wrestler Alex Windsor) and his stepson.
The Aerial Assassin claimed that WWE understood he wanted to stay in the UK because Windsor couldn’t relocate to the US due to her family, and they plan on raising his stepson in London, England.
Will Ospreay, a professional wrestler currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), recently made headlines for firing shots at Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the Chief Creative Officer of WWE. Ospreay’s comments came in response to Triple H’s remarks about “the grind” in the wrestling industry. It was later revealed that Ospreay himself had come up with the idea for his promo.
In his response, Ospreay highlighted his current schedule and emphasized the hard work he puts into his performances. However, he also took a personal dig at Triple H, suggesting that the WWE executive’s position was solely due to his relationship with the boss’s daughter.

He informed AEW President Tony Khan that he would take full responsibility for the dialogue when he pitched the idea. Ospreay explained that he had always been respectful towards Triple H during their recent negotiations and felt that the WWE executive’s comments were a “cheap shot.”

This incident marks the first time Ospreay has taken shots at WWE or its performers. His response was driven by a sense of injustice and a desire to defend his work ethic and dedication to wrestling. Ospreay believed that Triple H’s comments undermined his commitment to the sport.
