Will Ospreay has nothing but respect for the late Big Van Vader, but did not enjoy their match together at all.
The pair faced off in August 2016 as part of a Revolution Pro Wrestling event in the UK which saw the former WCW World Champion get the win.
Speaking to “Fightful,” Ospreay was asked what he considers the worst match of his career. He said,
“I really don’t like speaking ill of the dead, but that Vader match I f**king hated. “It was just a horrible experience with a horrible dude. I wish nothing ill on him and I hope his family are well, but he just wasn’t kind to work with. That’s all, that’s it.”
The match came about after Vader dismissed the much-acclaimed Best of the Super Juniors 2016 match between Ospreay and Ricochet as “blatant acrobatics with no story.”
In response, Ospreay began using the Vader-Bomb and ultimately challenged the legend to the match. The bout itself has met with mixed reviews, with Vader evidently being past his prime.
The WWE Hall of Famer would suffer an injury during the match that would result in him pulling out of a convention scheduled for that weekend.
