Eric Bischoff, noted wrestling persona, has expressed his lack of interest in entering into a WWE Legends contract owing to its potential constraints on his ventures within the wrestling realm.
In a recent episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff delved into the arrangement that allows legendary figures to be a part of WWE’s team and make appearances. He was quoted as saying,
“Something I am immensely grateful for is my current freedom to do as I please, when and where I want, with whoever I desire and efficiently earn a living whilst doing so. Hence, being tethered to a contract of any nature, with anyone, unless it were exceedingly profitable financially, or immensely pleasurable to the extent that the monetary aspect becomes irrelevant, holds absolutely no allure for me.”
He continued,
“The primary reason I would refrain from signing a legend’s contract is not due to any lack of reverence for WWE or an unwillingness to collaborate with them on a once-off basis. I simply do not want to hold long-term obligations to anyone.”
Despite lacking a Legends contract, the WWE can legally utilise Bischoff’s image for merchandise such as action figures as well as incorporate him into their video games.
Bischoff, a WWE Hall of Famer, revealed that he still has roughly “11 months” remaining on a video game deal, post which he is free to associate with any other business entities as per his preferences.
