We’re back with yet another eWrestlingNews Question of the Moment!
Putting WrestleMania aside, this week was full of surprises as three new champions emerged in the TV broadcasts of Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, each with a championship title switching hands.
Victors, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez seized the Women’s Tag Team Championship back from Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch. Noam Dar took away the NXT Heritage Cup from Lexis King, and Zelina Vega triumphed the Women’s United States Championship from Chelsea Green.
So, our question to you today is, “In your view, who could potentially overthrow these new champions and become the next to clinch the gold?”
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
As for my response…
Predicting the women’s tag team scene is relatively simpler. Current female tag teams seem less likely to succeed the champions; for example, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter have had their share of limelight, Michin and B-Fab seem less significant, Maxxine Dupri and Natalya barely picked momentum, among others. The Fusion Collective’s utilization is currently low, which leaves us to consider Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Though WWE has yet to put them into action together, historically they seem likelier options compared to established tag teams.
When it comes to Noam Dar, the scenario becomes complex. The championship itself isn’t a major attraction, plus Dar’s character is not clearly defined as a heel or a face, which opens up competition to virtually everyone from NXT, EVOLVE, and even LFG. A pick between Ethan Page or Eddy Thorpe would add a fresh perspective, though Eddy could use the “heritage” element of the title to build his brand, something he attempted with the North American title but fell short.
As for Zelina Vega, I anticipate her holding the title long enough to enhance her profile. The post-draft shakeup of her division will add more intrigue to her reign. If Roxanne Perez ends up on the same brand, it could mean a significant challenge. Naomi is another potential contender if she ends up on the same show. Both Perez and Naomi are my top picks at the moment.
