We’re back with another eWrestlingNews Query of the Day!

This week, there have been whispers that WWE is considering introducing a Women’s Intercontinental Championship and a Women’s United States Championship. These would serve as midcard titles for Raw and SmackDown.

Whether or not these rumors hold any truth is yet to be verified. A lot of the chatter regarding belts in recent years has turned out to be unfounded. Even if these plans do come to fruition, the fact that they took long enough may suggest that the initial rumors were false, and circumstances have simply evolved. Until WWE makes an official announcement, this speculation should be taken with a tad of skepticism.

But why not take this heated conversation as an opportunity to speculate? Taking into consideration the existence of the NXT Women’s North American Championship, it’s evident that WWE is contemplating the introduction of midcard women’s titles. There’s no reason to dismiss the possibility that the main roster could receive similar additions.

So, the question for today is: “In the event WWE introduces midcard titles, who among the Superstars on Raw and SmackDown would you want to see holding these belts?”

Remember to share your thoughts in the comments.

Now, my opinion…

Raw Roster – Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Generally, anyone with an outstanding performance record like Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, or Bayley should have an opportunity to compete for these titles. I appreciate when those destined for the Hall of Fame can cross off multiple achievements. While my focus won’t be solely on them, it would be interesting to have these prominent names compete and uplift the prestige of these belts.

For the Raw roster, potential candidates could include Liv Morgan, Natalya, and Sonya Deville. It could also be a potential platform to promote Zoey Stark. My number one choice would be Kiana James. Her lack of momentum since joining the main roster could be addressed by giving her a chance to shine, without the pressure of a top title.

SmackDown Roster – Women’s United States Championship

Though SmackDown doesn’t have as vast a women’s roster as Raw, it still features some formidable contenders. I’d lean towards backing an experienced figure, as opposed to a fresh talent, hence my support for Naomi. Winning another title would not only emphasize her credibility but could also keep fans on their toes as the title would always be under threat.

Who would be your picks for the women’s midcard belts? Or do you believe these belts are unwarranted? Share your thoughts below!
