Today, we bring you another tantalizing query in our eWrestlingNews Producer’s Pick series!
Last Friday, it was disclosed that Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox had been let go by WWE. The reasons behind these decisions are relatively unclear at this moment. Based on a pattern established over the past year, we may never know the complete story. At this juncture, all we are left with is guesswork as to what might be on the horizon for these three ex-WWE Superstars.
Our thought-starter for you today is “Which wrestling promotion could soon feature stars like Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox?”
We’d love to hear your thoughts, so don’t forget to share them in the comments below.
Here’s my perspective…
To begin, it’s important to state that it’s always unfortunate to witness any wrestler’s departure unless they themselves wish to leave. Such a situation doesn’t seem to be the case here, so my sincerest hope is for Corbin, Hartwell and Nox to bounce back, find success and satisfaction on their own terms.
It’s quite clear the ultimate decision resides with the individual wrestlers, not fans or any external parties. None of us can instruct them on their next move, just as they cannot force another company to acquiesce to their demands. This speculation is just from the viewpoint of an enthusiastic fan.
I’ve always considered Baron Corbin as being underrated. In NXT, his performances were remarkable, and he was a comic relief in the locker room, not to mention his impressive finishing moves. Realistically, I don’t anticipate any of the three making an immediate leap into AEW and win the title hunt. Therefore, I am tempering my expectations with a realistic outlook. It would be interesting to see Corbin make a name for himself outside wrestling, perhaps after dabbling in some independent tours. He could be a good fit for TNA, and while I don’t foresee him joining AEW, I wouldn’t oppose the move unless he’s relegated to a jobber role.
Tegan Nox is a talent I foresee joining AEW 90 days from now. There is a possibility that she might thrive better in TNA or ROH. I wouldn’t rule out the prospect of Nixon Newell making her presence felt in an NWA show or going for an indie tour. It would equally be interesting to see her integration into WOW.
Indi Hartwell hit her peak as an underdog NXT women’s champion but never had the opportunity to fully showcase her capabilities, making her come across as though she had reached her limit. This propels my curiosity to see her perform in TNA, where she can effectively grow and explore her character more extensively than she could in AEW/ROH or independent circuits.
No matter which path they choose, I wholeheartedly wish them the best and success in their future endeavors.
